What is a Bulldozer Parent?

It began with wanting to make sure that our children would never be unhappy. We would watch over them for every possible fall, paying attention to every detail of their work and finding and solving their problems. That was helicopter parenting. Now we are literally paving the way so there are NO obstacles, there are no failures, there are no mistakes, or frustrations.

What is this doing to our children?
This is starting out your child’s life with 100% control over them and zero respect for the child. They are no longer building frustration tolerance skills. If they never experience struggle and are never allowed to fail, they will never be prepared for when it will inevitably happen.

Of course, no parent wants their child to lose or be sad or get hurt. But your job is to prepare them for the inevitable so they know how to handle it.
