What’s your favorite summer recipe?

Summer fun is around the corner! This dish is a favorite of our family. It’s a simple recipe where you can throw in different kinds of glass jarred beans from @jovialfoods making it so much easier. Plus they look so cute to serve in the size 4 @fieldcompany cast iron pan along with some homemade sourdough bread.

1 yellow onion finely diced
1/2 green bell pepper finely diced
1/2 red bell pepper finely diced
6 cloves of garlic minced
1 cup of extra virgin olive oil
50 oz of cooked beans (love @jovialfoods )
1 cup @goodfoodforgood ketchup
1/4 cup blackstrap molasses unsulphured
2/3 cup @coombsmaple syrup
1/4 cup @bragg apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp yellow mustard
Salt and Pepper to taste

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and set the rack to the lower-middle rack position. In a deep skillet, heat a ½ cup of EVO over medium heat. Add diced onions, peppers, and garlic. Season with salt and sweat the vegetables, about 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine well. Let the mixture simmer for a minute or so. Pour beans into a greased baking dish of your choice. You may also bake the beans in the skillet you’re already cooking in.
Bake for 2-3 hours, depending on your desired consistency. Periodically stir the beans every half hour. Let the beans stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Serves 8-10 people.
