Talking About Private Parts

I have been getting a lot of questions about private parts and how do you talk to your kids about their body.

1) always refer to your private parts with the real words.

2) use books to illustrate the concept. I love utilizing this book called "Who has what?" and pulling different sections of it depending on the child's age. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Also, I get a lot of questions about being naked in front of your child. It really depends on your comfort level as the moment you become anxious or uncomfortable about it is when you should stop. You want to have your child have a healthy sense of self and be comfortable in their own skin. That said between the ages of 5 and 6 you will notice that your child will become more "shy" in terms of being naked in front of others. They are noticing the differences between their body and others. Try not to react and respect them by giving them the privacy they desire.
