Oral Health
Most of you know how passionate I am about my oral health routine. I take it seriously because I’ve been through a lot when it comes to dental work.
Here are some of my top favorites:
Toothbrush: I like both the Suri (use code DRORGANICMOMMY) and the one from Living Libations
Flosser: from Slate (use code DRORGANICMOMMY) and I have been loving the water flosser from Quip
Toothpaste: from Fygg
Oral Probiotic: From Fygg
Coconut Oil for Pulling: from Terra and Co
Tongue Scrapper: on Amazon
Extras: I use this Therasage Device to ozonate water -(use code DRORGANICMOMMY OR DRORGANICMOMMY20 during their sale)
Baz Dental Gumline Cleaner
The order I do it in
People ask me all the time what order I do these in, and the order genuinely matters. Each step sets up the next one.
Tongue scrape. First thing, before anything else. Overnight buildup sits on the tongue, and I want it off and out rather than pushed around.
Oil pull, then scrape again. The second scrape is the part most people skip. Oil pulling loosens a lot, and scraping again is how it actually leaves your mouth instead of settling back in.
Water flosser. This flushes everything out from between the teeth and along the gumline before I go in by hand.
Floss, dipping the floss into my Fygg mint toothpaste as I go. This is my favorite trick. It carries the toothpaste down between the teeth and below the gumline, where a brush simply cannot reach.
Brush. Last, not first. By this point the mouth is already clear, so brushing is finishing the job instead of doing all of it.
It sounds like a lot written out. In practice it takes a few minutes, and it is the single easiest routine I have ever gotten my whole family on board with.
