LOW Tox Camp Packing Extras We Always Bring

The camp sends the official packing list… but these are the extras we always end up being happy we packed. These are the items that help kids feel more comfortable, stay organized, keep busy during downtime, and make camp life just a little easier.

You can shop all of our favorites on ShopMy here and on Amazon here

1. Bunk Items

The little comfort items matter. Cozy blankets, favorite stuffies, lounge pillows, and printed family photos can really help kids settle in and make the bunk feel like home.

We are still on the hunt for the perfect less toxic camp chair option, but this style is so helpful for outdoor activities, letters home, and hanging with friends around camp.

6. Flashlights, Lanterns & Headlamps

Do not forget extra batteries. Somehow they always disappear by week two.

9. Fans

Especially important for warmer camps and bunk rooms that can get stuffy.

10. Screen-Free Music Players & Cameras

We love bringing options that let kids listen to music or take photos without handing over a smartphone.

11. Sleeping Bags

Especially good for bunk overnights, outdoor nights, or camps that require one for travel days and activities. We spent a long time searching for lower-tox options made without added stain repellents, unnecessary flame retardants, and heavy synthetic coatings, while still being practical and comfortable for kids at camp.
