Storytime Snacks

🍎 Storytime Snacks 🍎

I think it is really important to teach your kids about seasons (even when you live in LA and there are no seasonsπŸ˜‰). One of my favorite books is called "Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn.” I have teamed up with some amazing moms to share #storytimesnacks ideas as my kindergartener son has become really interested in reading and writing. All of us have come up with different ways to encourage literacy instead of traditional methods. I took this book and made a snack with fall produce such as apples and what was fun was that my son came up with 2 different types of snacks using apples (muffins and a cinnamon spiced carrot apple sauce). After this, he worked on drawing a picture & writing out some of the fall themed words to go along with it. After you read these books with your kids, having them draw a picture of the book helps with their comprehension skills as well as their fine motor skills.
